Schnaible was a 2022 recipient of the CODA Visual and Performing Arts Legacy Award from his alma mater, Morningside University, in honor of continued and distinguished achievement and lifetime of excellence in music.

In 2025, Schnaible was awarded the Provosts Teaching Excellence Award at Manhattan School of Music for studio teaching.

A professor of voice in higher education since 1988, Mark Schnaible has taught and mentored countless aspiring singers and teachers of singing.  The students from his voice studio continue to excel and have been chosen for numerous young artist programs including The Santa Fe Opera Apprentice Program, Central City Opera House, Wolf Trap, Ohio Light Opera, San Francisco’s Merola Program, Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Des Moines Metro Opera and Glimmerglass Opera. They have been chosen for the studio programs of Washington National Opera -Cafritz, Zurich International Opera Studio, Hamburg Staatsoper Studio, and Basel Opera Studio as well as others.

His students have been chosen to participate in the art-song programs of SongFest as well as the renowned Ravinia-Steans program and the chamber music festivals of Yellow Barn and the prestigious Marlboro Festival.

They have distinguished themselves as winners of numerous competitions including the National Federation of Music Clubs, National Association of Teachers of Singing, The Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, The Joy in Singing Competition, and The New York Oratorio Society Competition, as well as many others here in the United States and in both Europe and the Middle East.

His professional students sing at the Metropolitan Opera, Berlin Staatsoper, Berlin Deutsche Oper, Berlin Komische Oper, The Royal Opera House Covent Garden, English National Opera, Dresden Staatsoper, Barcelona Liceu, and Israeli Opera as well as numerous regional houses in the United States and Europe.  Additionally, they are Grammy winners and have recorded for Chandos, Cezanne, Harmonia Mundi and Deutsche Grammaphon.

He currently serves on the voice faculties of The Curtis Institute of Music, Manhattan School of Music, Brooklyn College Conservatory, Metropolitan Opera -Lindemann, and Washington National Opera - Cafritz and maintains a private voice studio in Manhattan. He has served on the faculties of Boston University, Rutgers University, Montclair State University, Israel Opera - Meitar Opera Studio, Berlin Komische Oper Studio, and Arizona Opera Studio as well as his first alma mater, Morningside University.
